La corona d'espines

La corona d'espines

Violence against women's bodies, fatherhood and the possibility of redemption combine in this wonderful score of verses by Sagarra

La corona d'espines, a theatrical work in verse by Josep Maria de Sagarra, directed by Xavier Albertí, recovers and rediscovers one of the great texts of our theatrical heritage.

Set in Solsona at the end of the 18th century, the work narrates the troubles of a marriage agreement between a young woman and a young man without parents, where financial needs and also some suspicions are mixed.

Honor, power, impossible love and social hypocrisy in a tragedy that becomes a critique of the society of the time.
