Light Barcelona Festival

Canopy

Llum BCN
Director: Estudi Antoni Arola

For the first time, the TNC is taking part in Llum BCN, a leading European festival of light arts organized by the Barcelona City Council.

For three days, from February 2 to 4, between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., the Poblenou district and the area surrounding Plaça de les Glòries will host interventions by creators from the fields of contemporary art, design, architecture, and technology.

At the TNC, we present Canopée, by the Tarragona-based designer Antoni Arola. The main lobby transforms into a space that immerses us in the depths of the forest, inviting us to slow down, embrace silence, solitude, and deep reflection. A mysterious greenhouse that connects us to our senses through filtered light, botanical and damp scents, and the sounds of animals living in an ecosystem that feels isolated from time.

Additionally, by the olive trees at the TNC, you'll also find La Cremada, by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia: an educational journey offering a deeper understanding of the many facets of a forest fire. And Visibles, in the garden of Sala Tallers, by the Massana School: a project that redefines a vast urban space by creating a dreamlike landscape that invites interaction.

How to get there? To ease traffic and access to the TNC facilities, we recommend coming by Metro (Marina L1 or Monumental L2) or Tram (Auditori/Teatre Nacional).
