Since the Taliban regime came to power in 2021, Afghanistan has been experiencing a deepening humanitarian crisis.
The Afghan population is suffering severe and ongoing human rights violations, with women being the most affected. The Taliban have increasingly imposed restrictions on women and girls with the aim of erasing them entirely from public life: not only are they banned from studying beyond primary school, but they are also forbidden from appearing alone in public, taking part in or attending sports events, visiting public parks, or working outside the home. The most recent restrictions even prevent them from speaking in public.
At the TNC, we aim to give a voice to those women who are not allowed to express themselves or speak about their rights.
